Cantine Ben La Bedaine in Granby

The line up might look long, but the service is fast. One of the best in it's catergory!

Heard a lot about this restaurant so I had to try. First thing when you get in the parking is the line up inside the restaurant but the service is very fast and friendly though. The price matches the quality and portion.If you are in Granby you must pass by and give it a try 🍻

While in Graby we decided to get a quick bite. The sign caught our eye and made us laugh. So we stopped amd had a bacon poutine. Great.

TERRIBLE. They have no respect for the customers. They easily laugh at your complains and tell you to get lost and go somewhere else if your not happy. That's what I'm doing from now on.

Our local friends took us there to experience "real" Quebec food, so I hadn't read the reviews as I usually do. We were shocked that they do not accept credit cards, and would not take our U.S. debit card. We had to borrow cash from a friend! I got hot dogs, they were fine, but the others all got poutine. Our local friends had never eaten there before and they both said the poutine was not good, was soggy, and tasted sweet. No one was rude to us, but they still managed to make it a bad experience.

Great dogs and poutine lots of parking and spacious restaurant. They have a terasse outside as well and the staff is very friendly. I’m not always in the area but if I’m around i always try to stop there for a poutine and a couple of dogs. Well worth the detour.

If you're from out of town, poutine & Ben Bacon. You'll thank me later.

10/10 fries are enough to bring you here. However, the cheese curds are perfect for the poutine and the gravy is hot and tasty, so you can get those fries in poutine form if you like. Burger was nothing to write home about. Prices are super good, staff was also super friendly. GET THE DIPPED Soft Serve ice Cream, I've never seen chocolate sauce harden to such a thick layer before. We're talking 3.5mm of chocolate shell goodness. Atmosphere is fun, but it's new renovations aren't able to compete with going to some older more dilapidated cantines.

Retro style fast food restaurant and very tasty food

A good place to eat but is not as good as people make it sound like. The best thing is that you feel welcome and the ambiance is somewhat different than other places. I found the price way too high for the quality of the food.

The dip cone is amazing. I have never seen a dip cone with such a layer of chocolate. And it doesn't crumble to bits and make a mess when you bite into it. Try it to believe it. Super quick service as well.

I may be brown, but I know what great poutine is when i consume one. No franchise can beat this canteen. It's cozy et tres Quebecois! I just love this place. I used to eat out here after my hard workout at the gym. Almost every day. Their gravy, and the cheese curds!!! Omg, you can hear your teeth munching on it in joy... East or West, Chez Ben Onz bou la baden is the best! :) To all Granby-Zoo goers: If you didn't make a stop at this place--then your visit to Granby Zoo will not be complete. This is a MUST place to visit after the trip at zoo. Cuz they will really fill your tummy! (as per their slogan).

Back to back winner of the Poutine Festival's "Golden Fork" for good reason. Super cheap, great staff, awesome food. It's an iconic Quebec restaurant. Best poutine in Quebec.

Fast service and at this time very safe at least I felt so

I only give this place 3 stars because although their products are above average for this kind of canteen food, they are not extraordinary by any means, and the prices are too high for the quantity you get compared to other places who offer similar items on their menu. The poutine here is lacking in cheese and sauce quantity. Grown men only working behind the counter here, and i imagine they pay them more than they would teenage employees, hence the high prices.

We were told that we had to go here for the very best poutine. Poutine they have, and a few other fried foods, but the menu is very limited. They also have an ice cream shop attached/incorporated. I can't say that the poutine was anything special: it tasted the same as the other three restaurants in town I tried the poutine maybe I'm just not a Poutine connoisseur.The ice cream, however, was very tasty. Soft ice cream with a lot of topping varieties.

This place may have the best name ever!! Looks like a place Homer Simpsons would go to! Their classic hotdog come packed with onions which barely leaves any room for the sausage (pause). Their best item has to be the poutine, its quality of ingredients sets it apart. The food is cheap too!

Ben burger was delicious but lacking enough bacon only once slice cut into three pieces. Otherwise fresh and hot. Poutine was delicious, their gravy is the best I had in a long time, house made. Fresh cut fries and cheese curds are also regionally fresh. Fast friendly service. Staple place to make a quick stop for a bite.

One of the best canteens in town, best fries no doubt about that. A unique poutine sauce and a couple unique items only found Chez Benz.

Always popular trough the years like their uniforms and is always full. Food good for cantine but i think just to watch the team at work is a treat.

Very delicious food

Called to ask if there is ANYTHING vegetarian on the menu and they said NO NOTHING. Get with the times! It's cute that your DECOR is 1950's diner but we are in 2018 ! :( It was the only place in the area open late.

Poutine has the holy Trinity. Squeaky curds meaty red potatoes fries and a good sauce. Staff can knock out large orders very efficiently and are very friendly.

Amazing poutine, totally worth the 10 min detour! Had one classic and another with bacon. Both were fantastic. The fries are not soggy, cheese curds in abundance, and delicious gravy. We also could not help but try their chocolate-dipped soft serve which was equally good! Will definitely be back on my next trip to the eastern townships.
